The families of Don Stevens and Bob Burns are proud to announce the recipients of their 2026 Annual Aviation Scholarships.

Taylor Free of River Ridge High School, recognized for her dedication and potential in aviation, will receive a $10,000 scholarship to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Isabella Latham of Etowah High School, also distinguished by her commitment, will receive $10,000 for her Private Pilot License Program with Phoenix Air.

Additional $500 Ground School Scholarships are awarded to Justin Baumaister of Cherokee High School, James Bouchard of Etowah High School, Christian Werner of Woodstock High School, and Blake Alan Young of Cherokee High School.

This is the fifth year that the Cherokee County Educational Foundation will award these scholarships on behalf of their respective families. Don Stevens and Bob Burns, both former Delta Airlines pilots, are honored through this program, which aims to keep their passion for aviation alive. Their families' dedication to sharing their legacy helps foster community pride and respect for aviation careers.

The scholarship winners will all be celebrated at the May 14th Cherokee County School Board Meeting.
